When we moved from Wisconsin to Missouri in April we left behind 3 feet of snow. We were happy to leave the snow behind. Now in Missouri with an unusual winter storm called Cleon we now have 12 inches of snow. Our neighbors have said that this is one of the worst winter storms that they have ever seen in the 42 years that they have lived here. At least we can take comfort that this doesn't happen all that often. We were told that usually what happens is it will snow a few inches then melt within a few hours or a day or so. With this winter storm we will have this snow at least until Wednesday ( 12-11-13 ). Temperatures are suppose to start getting above freezing on Tuesday. So for now we are nice and cozy in our camper. Staying warm. Haven't gone anywhere except to give our neighbors up the hill a hard time about the snow. With the icy roads it isn't worth going to town until this starts to melt. No work will get done for the next couple of weeks. We shoveled ( with the tractor of course ) out our EarthShip so when the snow does start to melt we won't have to wait as long for the water to dry up. We did cover our tires that are a work in progress and some dirt so work will get back under way when everything has thawed out.

Greetings from Cape Girardeau, MO. My wife and I are former public school teachers who began a small, private school with a purpose of involving parents, being more individualized and project-oriented, and mindful of the whole child rather than only intellectually focused. We started with 19 students, K-8 just 4 1/2 years ago and are now up to 110 students. As we consider a building for our school, we are interested to be more conservative and efficient in our design. I'm intrigued by your process of developing and constructing your home. I wonder if we can use some of these ideas for a school building for 150 students. What are your thoughts?

Why not. It is a lovely idea. We could talk with you to brain storm on some ideas on what is important to you to have in the building. Why not build a school that your students could be a part of? Sounds really exciting. Even though we are a little over 3 hours away. You may want to come and visit us. And perhaps together we could figure something that would suit your interests and give you ideas. The only thing you may want to consider is to find out if you have building codes for your county. This may determine what kind of a building you may want to go with. Give us a call some time at 417-274-9885. Would love to hear from you.

Happy Holidays Severins! Trust me - we've already had more snow this winter than fell in the past six winters, combined. Friends and family back in Wisconsin have a lot more snow to deal with than we. Only difference is they have the equipment to handle it. And the roads aren't made from gravel.
